RMAN backup is killed on RHEL 4 with Out of Memory message


RMAN seems to run fine , but after some time the process is aborted.

This problem occured on

After some research i found this to be the solution to it all

[root@LXPDB01 ]# cat /proc/sys/vm/lower_zone_protection
0
[root@LXPDB01 ]# echo 100 > /proc/sys/vm/lower_zone_protection
[root@LXPDB01 ]# cat /proc/sys/vm/lower_zone_protection
100
[root@LXPDB01 ]#

Retry and you will see the problem is gone
